Training with us
Exercising at altitude is great for the endurance athlete. A moderate to high-altitude environment increases red-blood-cell concentrations, allowing more oxygen to reach the muscles during exercise, and also hikes the levels of an important chemical called 2.3-DPG, which helps 'release' oxygen from red blood cells to the muscles during intense exercise.
In Da Bundu welcomes athletes from all disciplines to make use of our facilities and fresh air.

We are situated next to a 4000ha pine forest witch provide ample space for cycling, hiking and running and are next to the Belfast dam which is ±2,8 km long and 800 m across which makes it perfect for rowing and canoeing.
We cater for all athletes and provide well-balanced, home cooked meals according to their needs and training programme. We also have an intertainment area for them, a t.v. and music to relax.
We have a small gym for the athletes so they can exercise when ever they need to.
We have become friends with all the athletes over the years. We can now say, it is no joy ride if you want to become an athlete! The training, time and effort they put in to it is amazing.
